So, I decided to use a limited palette and do something different. I had so much fun with this. It is a small painting (8 x 16) but it was refreshing to work on....
HAPPY PAINTING EVERYBODY!

"Spring"   oil/linen 28 x 22
(Fredericksburg, Texas- Hill Country)

Dear Friends,
Time flies and it seems like I am busier with facebook than keeping up with this blog. I promise to update my blog every 1st of the month together with sending out a newsletter.
I recently participated in the Oil Painters of American 19th Annual National Juried Show and Competition. There were over 2500 entries and I was blessed to having been one of 200 selected for the show. It was held in beautiful Scottsdale Arizona, at the Legacy Gallery. What a thrill it was to be there and be part of this amazing show and it was so much fun to see so many old and new friends! Can't wait to go to next years show, regardless of if my painting is or not included in the Competition.

I have been very active in facebook, and regularly post my work in progress for everybody to see. I will be trying to add it to this blog too.
Here's a couple of the paintings that I have just demo-ed on facebook:

"Cinco de Mayo Escaramuza" oil/linen 18 x 24

"Spring Love" oil/linen   16 x 12

On Friday's a mentor a small group of Artists at the Coppini, but I have decided to add a night class on Friday too which, pending confirmation by the Coppini Board, will be from 6 to 9:30PM. It will be announced in the Coppini Website and newsletter and I will assign places on a first come first serve basis. It will be Intermediate to Advanced painting.
I am also trying to find a place that we can sublease, or rent once a week for a group of Artists  that mainly work and live in the North side of San Antonio, to get together and paint with a Model. Hopefully we will be able to find a place soon. If anybody know of anywhere that might have nice lighting (preferably North light), and that we could use all day once a week, please let me know. We are looking into Churches, clubs, etc.....

American Art Collector will be featuring my work in the "Artist in Focus" section of the July 2010 Issue to hit the stands next month. I am also working on paintings for a "Duo Exhibition" that I will have with Frank Gardner, American artist who lives and works in San Miguel de Allende. The Show will open November 5, 2010 at M Gallery of Fine Art in Sarasota.
I continue to show at "Greenberg Fine Art" in Santa Fe.

So that's about all for now. I hope to be able to post some of the demo's I've be doing here too.
I will also announce the opening of the Friday Night Class via my newsletter. So, if you would like to be informed, please sign up.

Enjoy the summer and happy painting to those of you who paint too!!!! Would love to hear from you!
Gladys
